Will Vlog for comments

Thanks for the few comments on my vlog.? I thought there’d be more.? Honestly.? I checked and rechecked my site every hour to see if there were new comments.? Not so much because I was so proud of the vlog, but waiting for one of you to say what a dumbass I was.? But then I watched the video.? and then again.? I realized that I wasn’t too much of a dumbass.? And my voiced didn’t sound as totally stupid as it usually does.

In fact, it was a huge deal for me to be in front of the camera.? That is normally not the case in our house.? Of the 4,652 photos we took on 3 trips to Russia, I was in 5% of them.? Notice how my avatar over there <—— is a cartoon and not actually a photo of me.? The trusty husband assures me there is a cute photo of me on the card from his parent’s digital camera, but sadly, the card doesn’t work in our reader so in the mean time I’ll continue not believing him.

I did cut quite a bit from the footage I took.? I might put some of it together since there are some serious money shots like 2 lambs doing inappropriate things in a jar with the baby Jesus.? Wrap your head around that one will you.

But I told Derek that I’d do a vlog every Saturday.? That way you can see a little bit of what we do as a family on the weekends.? And to tell you the truth, despite the fact that the video took 2 days to put together, it was sooooo much easier than sitting here trying to figure out what to write.? Instead, I can look stupid on camera
and you’ll know what a true tard I really am.

I loved the vlog… man, your kid sure is cute!

  2. Yeah, I was gonna comment, but I had a small child in my lap and typing is difficult with said child in said lap. But rest assured, we both watched in fascination – it was the quietest 8 minutes in our household yesterday afternoon! πŸ™‚

We loved the video. It was wonderful to see the progress on the “park” at the trusty inlaws. The boy is soooo cute. I wish we could see you all more often. Give that cutie a hug from his Aunt Jan & Uncle Tom.

I thought the vlog was great! Almost so great to inspire me to do my own but then I’d have to figure out how to edit video. We have like a billion hours of video in Russia (not so much now that we are back – note to self have to video Rita more often) and I’d like to show some of it. My list of things to do never ends.

And wow, your menu looks yummy this week. We had lasagna last night – trying to get in all of my cold weather favorites one last time before summer.

Being in front of the camera isn’t something I like too much (hence the career choice), but seriously, I looked through the last six months of photos and I’m in like 10 of them. Gotta hand over the camera to husband and friends every once in a while otherwise kids may not believe that I was right there with them.

I think a Vlog post every weekend will rock! I’m soooooo looking forward to them. πŸ™‚

  8. I watched…just forgot what I wanted to say by the end of the video (memory span of a gnat here). I loved the tour of your house – I love peeking at other peoples houses.

  9. Well it’s not longer available, so how am I supposed to comment?

It didn’t make you look or sound bad at all. It made you more real in that it was you instead of your typed words. Very cool. It’s one thing to have people describe their environment and family, but it’s another thing to see it. And, it is brave (in a sense) to put yourself out there like that. I’d probably feel too dumb to do it for the masses instead of just family. Ok, I don’t even do stuff like that for them πŸ™‚ But, then again – I don’t have an adorable kid and house (I have a small 1 bedroom apartment for me, my hubby and my dog…yours is not that small), etc. to show off either.

  11. It finally worked for me – great vlog!! Quin loved seeing Oleg again, and wanted me to put it on repeat. I was then “entertained” with many renditions of “when is Oleg coming to visit?” Whining, my son? Never.

  12. Wow. Just wow. I remember when you wouldn’t even show a picture of you on your site! Forever!

And now we get a full out tour of your house AND your family.

    Very cool.

It is like a whole new world has opened up to us. I might have to think about doing that too- for fun. Hmmmm.
