I see how you are. ?I go and post a bunch of really awesome photos of the boy (and one of myself) and you hardly comment. ?You know I thrive on you telling me how adorable my child is. ?I get it. ?You were so stunned at the ugliness of my hair that you became catatonic and didn’t have the?wherewithal?to bring yourself to comment. ?That’s ok. ?I understand. ?I’m getting my hair cut tomorrow. ?I’ll give you pictures. ?Then you better comment dammit. ?I know where all of you live.
After the meltdown episode on Sunday I thought I needed to devise a plan. ?It isn’t very often that we have major meltdowns in public places. ?Ok, there was that one where I had to take the child outside of the Buy More because he was screaming. ?But it has been well over a year since I’ve had to do anything close to holding time. ?Especially on the side of a busy street.
The child has entered a stage in his life that we shall now refer to as hungry. ?No, make that HUNGRY! ?The proverbial “they” always say that a boy will eat you out of house and home. ?My kid hasn’t been a?particularly?voracious eater in the past (almost) 3 years. ?He eats well and a wide variety of things, but never food in massive quantities or at the pace of one small yet fat cat. ?However, in the past week we just can’t keep up.
It has gotten to the point where I am feeding this child every hour. ?He still doesn’t eat as much as some kids, but todays food intake consists of 1 serving of cream of wheat, a full sized container of yogurt, 1 fruit snack, 1 granola bar, 1 whole peanut butter and jelly sandwich (with extra peanut butter), 1 cheese stick and 2 servings of grapes. ?When he gets up from his nap I’ll feed him a whole banana, 1 more fruit snack, 1 more cheese stick, probably another granola bar and then dinner and another snack after dinner. ?That’s a fairly light day. ?Most mornings he’ll eat 2 servings of oatmeal and sometimes 2 smaller containers of yogurt. ?Thing is… he’s not gaining weight rapidly. ?He burns off all of that food within minutes. ?That’s why he needs to eat so often.
For now I have solved the mystery of the screaming child and to keep everyone in the house happy I’ll continue to feed him. ?So please read my blog. ?I need money for groceries.
I get cranky when I am hungry too.
My tiny tiny children can eat that way. SO, yeah, I am still here.
It is so funny about comments..when you need them, they are scanty… when you don’t give a hoot they are plentiful.
try bacon…. that should make him happy. And I do a mix of nuts, raisins, goldfish… the protein really helps.
My eight year old is doing the same thing right now — eating me out of house and home. Where it goes, who knows, but if I ate the number of cheese sticks and yogurts that he did, I’d blow up like a house!
Cute pics, btw. Does it still count a day late? 😉
I second the protein. It helps to keep them satisfied longer and not burn off in a flash.
