As a family brought together by adoption you have the added joy of an extra holiday in your family. ?Growing up my Gotcha Day happened to be my birthday so my mom always went the extra lengths to make my birthday extra special. ?It was never called Gotcha Day, but I knew.
Three years ago today we became a family. ?Man how the time has flown by. ?I would love to write something eloquent about what life has been like the past 3 years. ?I just can’t find the words. ?Instead, I’m going to give you a video tour of what it took to become parents. ?I will warn you… this video is 30 minutes long (hey, it took 2 years to get the child). ?Long time followers may also need a box of kleenex.
I asked Derek to make this video for me for 2 1/2 years. ?He finally did it last winter. ?We gave this as our gift to our parents for Christmas. ?He slaved away at it every night for 2 weeks straight.
(if you missed the movie please email me at elle@lifeofelle.com, I may still share it with you)
I would love your comments on this one please. ?Back in the day we had hundreds of people who followed us on our previous blogs. ?Those people carried us through everything that we went through. ?We couldn’t have done this without you. ?This video is as much for you as it is our family, friends and our beautiful little boy. ?I will warn you, I will have to remove the video in a week or so. ?It does have photos and video of Alexander and since he is not my child I need to respect his and his family’s privacy. ?I just wanted to share just this once.
Happy Gotcha Day Oleg!
:). Hugs!

[…] also want to thank you guys for the comments on the video. ?It does mean a lot to me. ?I just need to start skipping to the second half (Unexpected […]
The video is amazing. We both cried, then laughed, then cried some more. It really helps put things in perspective for us. With all of the problems and delays we’ve faced, they are nothing compared to what you guys went through with Alexander. It also serves as inspiration in that as hopeless as things seem, there is still reason to keep fighting.
What a Beautiful video thank you so much for sharing it truly was a blessing to watch how God works. Blessings to you and yours!
