The bare minimum

This post is mostly directed to the BlogHer people, but it will explain stuff to readers.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that the sidebar is stripped down to the bare minimum.  A few weeks ago my website started acting funny.  After 6 years I am so pro at wigged out website.  I am the queen of operator error.  I’ve been hacked on more than one occasion.  I’ve had things spontaneously crumble apart.  I’ve fixed it all before, I can fix it again.

This time I’m completely baffled.  The issue is totally random.  Sometimes the website will throw out pop-ups.  Sometimes pop-unders.  Sometimes it will repeatedly redirect to off the wall sites.  Sometimes it plays music.  Most of the time it works just fine.  I haven’t been able to narrow down the issue because I don’t know where or when it’s going to happen.  I thought I had it fixed.  Then this morning it happened again.

I’m working on process of elimination.  Today I’ve removed all the extra stuff from my side bar.  If it continues to happen I’ll start eliminating widgets.  If it happens after that I’ll have to rebuild the whole thing… again.

So dear BlogHer people, I’m not trying to get out of my contract.  I’m just trying to fix my website.  Please don’t send me a nasty email.
