Need help of other Russia moms/parents

There might be a few of you left who followed our journey back in the day. ?AKA, parents to children from Russia who adopted around the 2006 mark. ?I don’t know if any of you remember this or even wrote down the name of the organization, but I need your help.

Do you happen to remember a video that circulated around the internet in 2005 or 2006 about a group of women in England who petitioned the Russian government to allow them to administer “occupational” therapy to a group of orphans? ?The work that they did with the children (mostly with?Cerebral?Palsy?and Muscular?Dystrophy) was astounding. ?They worked with children who were on the verge of being sent to a “specialized” orphanage and the therapy given saved a few from that fate. ?Although, in the video there was one little girl who made remarkable progress, yet was still sent to the specialized house.

I am trying to find the name of the organization and the video in particular. ?I didn’t write down the name of the organization. ?I was asked to write an article about this and I want to rewatch the video. ?Anyone out there remember and can help?

umm, why is your Occupational Therapy in quotes? If you need OT resources, you know who to ask! 😉 Good luck! I can also try to find it for you within the OT resource links, I just need more specific wording. Good luck!

Heather, I put occupational therapy in quotes because the project I’m talking about was a group of volunteer women from England that got special permission from the Russian government to work with these special children. They weren’t trained and the purpose was basically to prove that even an untrained person can administer a little bit of therapy and make a huge difference. So they weren’t real occupational therapists.

And I didn’t think you would be able to find the stuff. The organization is from England and the project happened back in 2005 or 6.
