Last night was Tacoma Chickadee’s birthday. She turned thirty-wonderful. She’s about 3 weeks behind me. Yeah! I’m older than one of my friends. I’m usually the baby of the group.
Neal planned a wonderful girl’s night in with all of her girlfriends. He sent 2 of their 3 children away. No he didn’t sell them on Ebay. He even cleaned their house. Each one of us walked in and said, “holy hell!” That good looking. Well done.
Of course only the Chickadee could be late for her own birthday party. Yes. Late to her own birthday party at her own house. Smooooth.
That’s ok. We raided their fridge. Tried to sell her youngest to the gypsies, but they wouldn’t take her. And of course started drinking without her. Serves her right.
I was privileged to meet all of The Chick’s friends. Lena made a fantastic pasta with cherry tomatoes. Em brought a delightful spinach salad with fresh picked raspberries. Jenny brought a chocolate cake, that I’m all too sorry I didn’t try. I did try the brownies Lena made. Somehow I impressed them with home made bread, brie and snap peas from my garden. Impressed them so much they inducted me into their girlfriends mommy group. Rock on Elle!
What an awesome night. Despite the fact that the guest of honor was late. to her own party. at her own house.
The best part of this group of women… they are all bloggers. Seriously. I introduced myself to Lena and her response was, “nice to meet you, you write Life of Elle right?” Nice. I’m now identified by my blog. I’m famous like that.
You can never have too many girlfriends! Glad you had a good time.
Welcome to our crazy little playgroup. We got stories, tons of kids and an awesome time together.
The more friends, the better! Another thing to try for allergies is NAET (www.naet.com). It has worked wonders for me (I can eat dairy again – I used to have a reaction if I even looked at yogurt or cheese) and a girlfriend no longer has to use an epi-pen if she accidentally eats bananas (or something that was touched by a banana – it was that bad). It is also based on acupuncture, but has an acupressure component for kids or those who aren’t sure of acupuncture.
I thought you might like it. Thanks again for your patience. That rocked. And now I’ll remember to count movie previews and Seattle traffic into my time estimates … 🙂
LOVE it. I would totally be late for my own party, too. I’m good like that.
ps – the website stuff is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G seriously! 🙂
Hi! I came across your earlier sites by accident and I was reading some of the posts. My brothers, ages 13 and 10 now, are both adopted from Far East Russia, from a town called Blago. (It’s longer but I can’t spell it) : ) But I read that your son rocks, which is what my youngest brother still does 8 years later. Adoption is an amazing thing! (and we also kept the boys Russian names) Victor and Kolya ( we call him Cole)
