Get out of the bitter barn and play in the hay

6 months ago I emailed my girlz and asked if they wanted to go to BlogHer with me (sorry Tricia and Jen, we tought Tricia would be too busy as a new mom and Jen… we’ll that’s one expensive flight).? We all considered it briefly and tried to make it work, but financial circumstances as they are it just didn’t happen.? Hell I even offered to whore us out to be on a panel.? We nominated each other to win a trip, but sadly no one won.? So all 4 of us are stuck at home.

Mrs. Hannigan created this graphic for the others who are not attending the conference either*.

So what funtabulous thing am I doing this weekend instead of hanging with my girlfriends in San Francisco?? I’m going to my Uncle’s wedding.? And this isn’t any ordinary wedding.? This here wedding is at the Moose Lodge… in Yelm.? (Those unfamiliar with Yelm should be clued in that it is the home of JZ Knight and the most exciting thing to happen to this town in the past 15 years is the addition of a second stoplight.)

So think of me while I’m resisting the urge to Twitter during the ceremony as I’m sure my great Uncle Donnie will be drinking a Miller Light somewhere around the vows.

*and it’s not so much that we aren’t going to BlogHer, it’s more that we’re missing out on getting together for the first time all in one group.

  1. Yeah, I don’t mind missing BlogHer one tiny iota. I think the whole thing is pretty stupid, actually. But I would love, love, love to have a weekend with all of the girls. I think we should wait until the weather gets chilly and then hope that someone who lives somewhere warm (hint, Tricia) invites us all to her neck of the woods. Or, that we all simultaneously get rich and can hop a plane to Seoul.

  2. I always thought it would be a fun weekend – hanging out and drinking with some fun bloggers. I had no idea the conference was so expensive! Someone linked the costs of just the conference and hotel today and I was shocked. Maybe some day I will go but it seems like there has to be something better to do with an extra grand.

I was just going to offer my place for our own BlogHer convention. Warm weather, sand, margaritas / wine and jacuzzi… And we have wireless!

You know you girls are welcome anytime!

Also thinking we could meet at Disney, or do one of those Disney Cruises, or Las Vegas, …
