I have a few things to wrap up before I move on to the good stuff.? This will also allow me to complete some research on a few topics so I’m not actually talking out of my ass this time since they are highly sensitive subjects.? (Don’t you love how I’m building such suspense?)
——————————————
Before my first pep-rally in High School I stopped by the student store and bought a balloon.? Why?? Well, I like balloons and this particular balloon said, “I have a balloon and you don’t.”? I sat at the top of the bleachers in the Freshman section with my shiny little balloon.? It was a great time.? After the pep-rally I was walking out of the school with my friend Jessie and some upper class man stopped me and commented on my balloon.? He said he noticed it all the way across the gym.? “That was the point,” I replied.? Thus continued my long history of being the center of attention.
Later in my Freshman year one of my friends gave me the nickname DATM.? DATMAWIC was the long version.? It means Draw Attention To Myself Any Way I Can.? And it is so true.? Have you noticed?? You hadn’t?? You need to pay better attention (to me).
This spring I started participating in the weekly Chalk-offs in Frost Park.? Some weeks I whored for votes on my own site and others I simply didn’t participate.? I’ve now won 3 times.? The first time I won a pizza from a local pizza joint.? The second is called the “lost episode” because there was no sponsor prize.? Then, on September 5th I won again.? I wasn’t even planning on participating that week, but Joel decided he was going and I couldn’t let him go all alone.? I wasn’t feeling well that day and almost bagged the whole thing.? But I went and I won, without campaigning for a single vote.
What was my prize?? First, a gigantic watermelon that was painted gold.? I’m told it was delicious, but I don’t eat watermelon so I can neither confirm nor deny that claim.? But the bigger prize was an “exclusive” interview with Electric Elliot from The Melon.? Of course shortly after winning our house became a giant construction zone so I busted my ass to fix things so he could tape the interview.
Last Thursday he showed up to do the filming.? Lucky for the viewers I actually showered that day, and applied lipstick.? Crazy, I know.? I got the email this morning that the video was done and was going to be shown to the world today.? In the spirit of drawing attention to myself any way I can here is the “exclusive” interview.? Please note the following:
1) my wonderful lack of restraint in talking with my hands
2) my continued over use of air quotes
3) and how much I truly hate that mole on my arm.? Why the hell did I wear a sleeveless shirt?

Your support over the years means the world to me.? 9 times out of 10 if I have something super important to bitch about… your’e the first one I run to.
Elle,
thanks for posting this here. it’s nice to see more of you and congrats on being a local celeb. Also the tips on the chalking, my son and I have taken to doing this on the driveway on weekends (all due to you and the Frost Park Challenge), and the concrete is killing my hands, so the brushes will be purchased before our saturday chalk date. 🙂 Can you let me know what type of chalk you use, I did not catch that in your interview.
thanks
Sweet interview…and when will you be in people magazine?
Nice Video!
Lotsof funness and stuff. Speaking of being the center of attention I have no idea what you are talking about? Whenever I’m around you you’re just on the edge and everyone is focused on me.
Joel, they are not looking at you, they are too busy checking out your hot wife.
Elle, I watched all 12:09 of the interview. You are darling, and I miss you very much after watching this. And your hair looks fab.
I like being the center of attention, but without trying very hard because I’m also pretty lazy.
Other than forgetting that you prevailed in Episode XIII Elle, you delivered s spellbinding interview.
Nice work. Elliot’s formalistic delivery helped alot.
You’re so cute!
You are awesome. I don’t know what the chalk-offs are, but it sounds like some interesting prizes. However- Vimeo is telling me the video no longer exists. That sucks. I want to SEE you in it!
Sad that I will never get the Smile Award. I can’t even pretend to have a cheerful attitude. Half way through the day and I am all faked out.
DATMAWIC? This explains a lot. I feel like I understand you a bit better.
