No… I am not making truffles. ?I have been banned from making any chocolate confection until Christmas.
My girlfriend Alicia (aka Tacoma Chickadee) plastered Facebook and Twitter that she had made bacon truffles. ?If you will recall every time I put up the Sweet Hope nominating post at least one person suggests bacon. ?I refuse to make bacon truffles. ?Mostly because the thought of touching raw bacon totally skeeves me out. ?However, Alicia is adamant about the bacon truffle thing. ?She has tried on more than one occasion to create some sort of bacon-chocolate concoction that tastes decent. ?She claims she has done that. ?I tasted the last bacon truffles she made and they weren’t stellar by any means (sorry).
She offered me a taste of the new truffles, but I had to drive to her office to get them. ?Um, no. ?I’m not driving anywhere for bacon and chocolate. ?I love bacon and I love chocolate, but they don’t go together.
So now I’m asking you dear internetz. ?We haven’t had a good old fashioned poll here in a while. ?What do you think?
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
I think bacon is “ew” all by itself, so I feel kind of guilty skewing your poll, but that’s how I feel!
I love sweet/salty mix, so I could imagine them being tasty. Having said that, I’d try them once and if I liked them, I’d go back for more. Unfortunately, I’ve never had the opportunity to try them…maybe someday! 🙂
I’m borderline “meh” and “eww, just ewww”. I can’t imagine what meat and chocolate would taste like together. A big part of me does not want to find out. I’m also one of those people who doesn’t like the food on their plate to touch each other. So, there is that neurosis as well.
I like salty and sweet together but I think this is a novelty that I might taste once and admit it isn’t bad but never have any desire to eat again. My BFF sent me bacon caramel corn (made right here in TN lol). It tasted weird but in a not bad way that you kept eating it until…then I kind of wanted to throw up.
Oh no! I can’t get my head round that combination at all! Definitely eww!
I didn’t like the last batch either … more like a bacon peanut butter cup. And I think I needed cream PB. This version has no bacon chunks. And at least one coworker has been nomming them all week. And I will drive them to you for a taste, silly. And again, no bacon chunks. 😉
And, I make them because my loved ones want them. Bacon chocolate bark for Abby, bacon truffles for hubby and others. Plus, it’s just fun. 😛
