I just realized that I passed the 1000th post on Life of Elle mark here. Fairly uninspiring huh? Oh, I also celebrated the 5 year anniversary of this here blog on January 2nd… um… no I didn’t, but let’s pretend that I did m’kay.
I took some time and read a few of those early posts. Wow, I was kind a funny.
So what has happened in the 5 years since this site was born? I became a mom, I had lots of yogurt thrown at my head, I traveled a bit, I’ve had some home repairs, my mother-in-law got brain cancer and I lost my funny*. That pretty much sums up the past 5 years.
What has this blog become in the past 5 years? A way for me to whore out candy. It’s for the children… what, don’t you like orphans? I have become the crazy cat lady (tomorrow you get cat photos). It has become a way for me to meet a vast support network of women who know what it is like to go through this thing called (international) adoption and the life thereafter.
So to those of you that are still reading, thank you. To those of you who buy the candy, an even bigger thank you. Because of you 40 children on the other side of the world are having birthdays this year. To those of you who are my support network, the biggest thanks of all. Without you I would have surely suffered the wrath of the mommy apocalypse.
*I would link all of those posts, but either they were eaten by a hacker or there are too many to link.
