It’s so involved being me

Those of you who actually click over to my site to read the whole post (yeah, I partial feed, whattyah gonna do bout it?) may or may not notice that I’ve finally gotten my act together and changed my tagline. ?I haven’t done that since… April. ?I’ve always had the plan to change the tagline each month. ?I’ve just been a little involved.

Involved in what you might ask.

Life.

The past two weeks have been enough to put me square in the loony bin. ?Last Monday the boy had hockey evaluations. ?We (I) thought he would be moving up to Mite level hockey where he would play real-live games, but the trusty husband informed me that he’d be staying in mini-Mites. ?This is good because mini-Mites is less expensive and the boy would have an added year to refine his skating skills. ?This is bad because mini-Mites is while I work on Saturdays so I never get to see my son skate.

The next day I took my baby to his first day of Kindergarten. ?Two days later I put him on the big giant school bus for his second day of Kindergarten and didn’t get to see him get off the bus because I had to work, but my mom was in charge so it was ok, not really because I’m the mom I have a kindergartner **SOOOOBBBB** ?I’m still not crying. ?honestly.

Sunday was our 4th Gotcha Day. ?My not even two year old baby that I took out of the orphanage has been in our family for 4 years. ?FOUR! ?Holy hell how did that happen?

Tuesday I continued the marathon sprint of how the hell can I finish a 28 page book, 2 forms and 13 brochures before this looming deadline of September 12th? ?I managed to do it, I may or may not be slightly intoxicated as I read this and I’m bound to be sick as a dog come Monday morning.

Not only did I have to do all of the usual beginning of September church work I worked at the nursery on Thursday and to top it off I decided that I really needed to finish the cookbook for the church that I’ve been working on since February.

My garden is in disarray, my house is in disarray, I have a stack of zucchini and yellow summer squash on my counter that is a mile high that is waiting to be pickled. ?In my spare time I pickle everything that isn’t nailed down, including my liver.

Sure, I could say no to things. ?However, the things that are on my plate are things that well… pay me money… except the pickling part. ?I just think that’s fun.

Despite some minor hair loss and weight gain I don’t mind so much… besides, you guys aren’t reading much anymore anyway.

I read all the time you big whiner πŸ™‚ And I have some jars for you if you’d like them for FREE! Got them last year at a garage sale with grand ambitions. Since this is not my year for ambition, I’d rather have the space in my utility room.

Welcome to being a grown-up. Sucks sometimes, doesn’t it? Breathe deep and enjoy the ride. It’s actually pretty great.
